Trapper Hat Pattern: Leather Fur Hat with Ear Flaps - PDF Sewing Template
Make your own leather trapper hat with a warm shearling lining. Ear flaps, a fold-up front and a crown that actually fits your head, because the pattern comes in 10 sizes.
Sizes: 55 to 64 cm head circumference (21.6 to 25.1 in), one size per cm. Measure around your forehead and just above your ear tips, then print only the size you need.
What you get: 3 PDF files, A4, US Letter and Legal. Every size prints on 9 pages at actual size, with all stitching holes marked at 6 mm spacing, so the seams line up hole for hole. A test page checks your printer scale before you start.

Materials: 3 square feet of 1.5 mm shearling or leather (enough for the biggest size) and 4 x 5 mm eyelets for the ear flaps. Chin straps are a separate pattern.
Skill level: beginner. Takes about 8 hours.

Printing & paper sizes
Open the PDF with Adobe Reader and print at "actual size". Do not use "fit to page" or "shrink to fit" — those resize the pattern and the pieces will not line up.
Larger patterns are spread across several sheets. Print them all, line up the marks, and tape the sheets together before you start cutting.
